Six appareils
portables
l'appareil.
Bluetooth. À 69$US, je trouve cet
d'autres (Lumoback posture sensor, Samsung Galaxie Gear Watch,
Google Glass).

Six Wearable devices
Visiongain,
an independent reporting service, estimates that the wearable device market
will reach 4.6 billion dollars in 2013.
So, this week
I will show you a few wearable devices available on the market now.
What it
does is move the text in the display at the same rhythm you do so that your
eyes can read stable content while you jog on your treadmill. They are still trying to fund the project
through crowdfunding.
The wristband serves as an authentication device based on your heartbeat which, according to the company, is as unique as your fingerprint. As they put it "Your Nymi lets you use your unique cardiac rhythm to authenticate your identity, allowing you to wirelessly take control of your computer, your smartphone, your car and so much more. As you wake up, know that wherever you go the Nymi will be interacting with your devices, creating a smart, password and keyfree environment."
The device connects to your devices through Bluetooth and an
application installed on the device recognises your heartbeat and lets you use
the device. I wonder how efficient this
is after a 30 minute jog? MSRP $79.
The device connects to your
Smartphone through Bluetooth. But for
$69. US, I find it kind of expensive for something that will disturb you just
as much as the phone vibration would. It
sure makes a cool reminder that your 5 lives are ready in Candy Crush.
This device measures how well you run and how close you are to injuring your foot or ankle. As they put it: "Sensoria socks are infused with textile sensors and paired with an electronic anklet that not only tracks steps, speed, calories, altitude and distance (think FitBit, Nike Fuel), but goes well beyond that to track cadence, foot landing technique and weight distribution on the foot as you walk and run. Sensoria identifies injury-prone running styles (heel striking, overpronating, etc.), then leverages a mobile app to coach the runner in real-time via audio cues. The Sensoria dashboard can also help achieve goals, improve performance and reduce risk of gravitating back to bad tendencies. The technology SDK can be applied to develop apps for different sports, such as rehab balance exercises, tracking weight shifting during a golf swing, or movements of the foot during a tennis match." MSRP $149.
The sensors are inside the socks
and connect to the Bluetooth anklet which in turn transmits to the
Smartphone. The company says the socks
can go through washer and dryer cycle without damaging the sensors.
If you want to log your life, this is the device you're looking for. The 5 Megapixel camera takes 2 geotagged photos every minute. The app helps you reconstruct your day based on the time the photos were taken. For $279. you also get 1 year of cloud storage service. Just hang it to your collar and away you go.
These are
just a few of the devices I spotted this week.
There are several others (Lumoback
posture sensor, Samsung
Galaxie Gear Watch, Google
Glass). You need to wonder if any of
these devices are really worth having or if they are modern gadgets to start an
entertaining discussion...
